BOLTON, MA -- John Deaton, candidate for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, responded to news that President Trump has again overruled a finding by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that Massachusetts should qualify for millions of dollars in disaster relief following a historic snowfall in February.

"Massachusetts taxpayers are at a breaking point, and the loss of $45 million in federal relief is another bill they will ultimately foot. I urge the Trump administration to reconsider its decision on behalf of residents who already pay some of the highest housing and utility costs in the country," said Deaton.

"It's unsurprising that Senator Markey, who is campaigning out of state, has no leverage whatsoever to change the outcome of this arbitrary decision by the federal government. If elected, I will be fighting every day for every dollar that currently does not come to Massachusetts. We need a U.S. Senator whose vote is courted to get the best deal for the Commonwealth, not one who is counted on by the opposite party."
