NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- U.S. Senate candidate John Deaton was endorsed on Monday by IBEW Local 326, handing him a significant nod from unionized utility workers heading into Election Day.
Local 326 President William LePelley cited Deaton's responsiveness to the concerns of his members, including greater support for the trades through Deaton's federal GI Bill for apprenticeships, an all-of-the-above energy buildout from solar and wind to nuclear and natural gas, and Deaton's history to representing utility workers suffering asbestos-related illnesses in court.
"From our very first conversation, I knew that John Deaton is the man for this job," said LePelley. "He didn't come into this race with slogans. He has a history of 30 years representing union utility workers like my members during the darkest periods of their lives. He knows what's good for IBEW Local 326 is good for America, and that's why I'm proud to endorse him to be the next U.S. Senator from Massachusetts."
"Receiving an endorsement from the working men and women of IBEW Local 326 is a tremendous honor," said Deaton. "I founded my law firm to take on corporations who mistreated workers, and today many still face the same misclassifications, wage theft, and health risks that I've fought for decades to eliminate. I'll continue fighting for these great Americans in the U.S. Senate."
